Collecting Costume Jewelry 101: The Basics of Starting, Building and Upgrading (Identification & Value Guide)

Price: $16.47 USD

Can you please tell me - what does that mean?

You can find my answer below….

Answer: G’day and many thanks for your query

The SAK is simply a Maker’s Mark or Design ID or even a Store name. It is not part of the Hallmark as we think of it - simply an identification mark.

You should have a stamp somewhere on the chain though - if it is gold. Usually found near or ON the clasp - or on a little tag - next to the clasp.

To be sure I would suggest you drop it in to your local FRIENDLY jeweler and have them take a quick look at it. Usually they wouldn’t charge you for a verbal opinion - but if it needs testing - then they will charge a fee.

You might like to add this problem to my blog at: http://how2valuejewelry.com/ as someone may have come across this mark before and could add more to the solution.

Can’t harm anyway….

Hope this helps.
